Centering around the years after Fran and Bobs youngest child Rosie (played by Alice Arthur) returns early from her travels this intense family drama laced beautifully with physical theatre (choreographed by @danwalshdance) has twists and turns EastEnders would be jealous of and was executed perfectly.
Given the timing of this production some storylines hit harder than others considering trans character Mia (played by the stunning Julien Rosa). They did an incredible job with the show with the direction and casting by Lynda Lewis being absolutely perfect bringing the representation and care it needs to the local stage of an Australian working class family trying to survive in life.
Each sibling was presented with whole arcs and backstories which I’m always there to appreciate but this took it to the next level. Ruth Herd’s Pip bringing tears down my cheeks, Blake Hutching’s Ben making me want to scream into a pillow and of course the patriarchal Bob and Fran Price played by Julie Godfrey and Rod Wilkinson making me feel every emotion under the sun. This production is worth seeing for the chemistry between all of them alone.
Things I know to be true plays at the @lofttheatreleam until the 17th May. Tickets are still available on their website with 16-25 year olds going free.
